Children’s Music Workshop is a music education company which has been officially supported by the GSI Foundation for many years. This year was especially important for us due to the impact of COVID-19 on education world-wide. We know that music is unfortunately one of the first areas to suffer from budget cuts in many schools. Especially during this crisis we wanted to make sure that our programs won’t have to stop providing their high quality education to children in the Los Angeles area. As we mentioned before Children’s Music Workshop has also switched completely to teaching online ukulele classes too. Students at Brockton Avenue Elementary School and Castle Heights participated in a series of Zoom sessions with their music teachers.
At each school, there is always a performance at the end of the Spring semester to showcase children’s progress. However, this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Children’s Music Workshop decided to produce professionally edited videos of their virtual concerts. We’ll keep uploading more of these performances as we receive them from Children’s Music Workshop. In the videos below, you’ll find a performance of the Virtual Orchestra from Pacific Palisades Elementary School. Listen to this wonderful performance and celebrate with us another year of GSI Foundation providing music education together with Children’s Music Workshop in the Los Angeles Area.
